More than 1 and I would say you'd want to up the difficulty or maybe run 5 crewmember encounters with the 6 crew member ruleset. If you chose 1 a round the game would be pretty balanced still. You'd essentially get rotating character abilities that you could tailor to your current missions. If you don't know the rules yet those might not make sense to you, but they are essentially abilities other characters have in 5Parsecs, so they shouldn't be wildly unbalanced. Precognition: +2 to seize the initiative rolls Obfuscation: subtract 1 from the rival roll Telepathy: gain a +1 bonus when finding patrons

Mind shield: give your psion a 6+ saving throw Levitation: your psion can glide an equal distance from their height Kinesthesia: +2 to your psions movement speed Telekenisis: give your psion an additional point of luck Pyrokineses: give your psion a weapon profile that can't be damaged or lost for any reason to represent them creating flames or telepathically slamming opponents Each campaign turn pick 1 or 2 that you can use for that turn. The way I'd get around this is to develop a long list of thematic powers, roll random to start with 2 or 3 with the ability to gain more. Like most rpgs, homebrewing can often lead to overpowered characters. There is for example an enemy character called a 'rogue psionic', but the main effect is very high luck so it takes a lot to actually kill them (i think that's supposed to represent their mind protecting them from harm).

That said, you could do some pretty cool homebrewing to achieve the desired effect. There are concrete rules for a minor psychic like an Empath, but it really amounts to you from being unable to take bionic implants without losing your powers and getting a +1 on negotiations. I don't say this negatively, it is meant for you to homebrew extensively, and I would argue it blossoms in that context. It's mostly a collection of d100 random generation tables and a skeleton of a combat system. This game is really really homebrew focused.
